This melody, found on a prison in La Serena, Chile and written with a burnt match in a small piece of paper, constitutes the last record of the orchestra master -Jorge Peña Hen- assassinated on October 16, 1973, by the extermination operation known as "The caravan of death".

Jorge Peña Hen was born in Coquimbo in 1928 and there he began studying piano. Later he studied violin, viola and cello, performing several times as a youth player on those four instruments. In 1964 he managed to create the Experimental School of Music and, shortly after, the establishment of similar schools in Ovalle and Copiapó. Its Experimental Teaching Plan, aimed at mass teaching of music to primary school students, was the basis for the creation of the Children's Symphony Orchestra, the first group of its kind in the Continent.
